Silent march, program and service project scheduled for Jan. 21
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich, Jan. 16, 2013 - On Monday, Jan. 21, Davenport University students, faculty and staff will celebrate and honor the life of Martin Luther King, Jr. with a silent march around the W.A. Lettinga Campus and program and reception to follow. Several other events are planned to take place throughout the week as well.
“Across the country, people of all ages and backgrounds will come together to improve lives, bridge social barriers, and move our nation closer to the "Beloved Community" that Dr. King envisioned,” said Dr. Rhae Anne Booker, Executive Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. “We would like Davenport University students to have a similar experience on this very important day.”
