My Town GR North: Students bring history to life with 'wax museum'
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.—Students at Knapp Charter Academy are bringing a history lesson to life with a creative take on the traditional wax museum.
On Thursday, May 1, fifth grade students will pretend to be figures in a Revolutionary War wax museum. Each time a visitor drops a quarter into their bucket, the students will “come to life” and talk about their role in the era. The presentation puts a fun and interactive spin on history, while raising money for a class trip ti Michigan's Adventure at the end of the year.
The “wax museum” will be open from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Knapp Charter Academy, located at 1759 Leffingwell Ave. NE.
