The Lazy Man Buffet

The Lazy Man Buffet

We've all been to a pizza buffet, right? Not like this you haven't!

Larry's Pizza, located at the Plainfield and I-96 exchange, offers what is called a "Lazy Man Buffet."

How it works: You pay right when you walk in, grab your drink and a salad, and then take a seat. From there you are served a non-stop pizza parade of some of the tastiest, most unique pizza you've ever had. A couple of my favorites included the Loaded Baked Potato, Chicken Honey Mustard, and The Mac - which tastes exactly like a Big Mac.

Larry's also offers a game room and big screen TV so you can let the kids play while you catch the big game.

GRAND RAPIDS TOWNSHIP, MI - If you have driven by Knapp’s Crossing in Grand Rapids Township lately, you may have noticed that there are two large signs announcing that PF Chang’s China Bistro is coming soon.  The restaurant will be located at the corner of East Beltline Avenue and Knapp Street NE.

The 7,000 square foot restaurant will cost about $750,000 to build, according to McGraw-Hill Construction’s Dodge Report.  A completion date has not been announced.

Knapp's Crossing is a new 80-million dollar lifestyle mall under construction in Grand Rapids Township. A new D&W Fresh Market was the first store to open in the development last May.

April 1 Fish Fry at St. Alphonsus Church

April 1 Fish Fry at St. Alphonsus Church

As if the sun rays beating down and birds chirping weren't enough to make my day, I realized its April 1st. Not only do I get to pull fun practical jokes the ENTIRE day but I also get to take my family to the lent fish fry at St. Alphonsus Church. It's one of the best meals you can get for $8.00 and includes all you can eat baked or fried walleye, baked potato or French fries, cole slaw, mac and cheese, sour dough rolls and homemade desserts. *Grilled cheese is also available for non fish eaters.

My Favorite Pot Roast Recipe (feat. Kingma’s Market)

My Favorite Pot Roast Recipe (feat. Kingma’s Market)

I went to Kingma’s today for the first time ever. If you have not been there, you need to go immediately. I had no idea what I had been missing out on. Kingma’s is a little grocery store on Plainfield in Grand Rapids that sells lots of local, fresh food. I noticed that they even carry organic cheese from a farm in Coopersville! They also have a massive selection of beer, wine, produce, AND delicious bulk snacks like dried fruit, nuts, and candies. I picked up some cinnamon yogurt covered pretzels (which taste like a more intense and creamy version of cinnamon toast crunch) and candied ginger slices.

The meat counter, however, is where they really shine (and why they’re a local favorite). This huge counter is full of freshly cut meats as well as tons of different types of sausages, most of which are made right there. I walked up to the counter and asked the butcher to suggest a nice cut of meat, about 2 lbs, for my pot roast.
