Mayor rows down the river | News
GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM) - Earlier Friday morning, Mayor George Heartwell joined members of the Grand Rapids Rowing Association and Van Andel Institute for a rowing trip down the Grand River.
The mayor took a tour of the Grand Rapids Boathouse to get some tips from experienced rowers, before setting out on his trip.
Grand Rapids will be hosting the 24th Annual Grand Regatta rowing event on June 25th to help raise money for cancer research at the Van Andel Institute.
Rowing is the nation's fastest growing amateur sport.
