GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WZZM) -- A fire destroyed a vacant home Sunday on the city’s Northeast side.

According to Grand Rapids Fire Battalion Chief Dan Stoddard, the fire started just after 12:30 p.m. The home located on Ford Avenue, near Brenner Street, was under construction. No one was living in it at the time.

Firefighters evacuated a neighboring home out of precaution, but the blaze did not spread.

The fire is still under investigation. No one was injured.
