UPDATE 1:20 pm- Grand Rapids Fire Department crews have cleared the scene of the gas leak at Burr Oak and Monroe. Our WZZM 13 news crew on the scene was told the 4 inch gas line just went to one house and that people are being allowed to return to the area.

GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM) -- Emergency crews are responding to a gas leak at on the city's northeast side.

The leak was reported just before 12 p.m. Thursday at Burr Oak Street and Monroe Avenue, near Riverside Park.

Burr Oak is closed between Center and Monroe NW.

People living near the leak are being asked to avoid that area and people nearby are being kept away from the gas leak.

News
