Grand Rapids Audubon Club Presents "Night Flights" Jan. 31st
Amateur ornithologists will be interested in Caleb Putnam's presentation "Night Flights," sponsored by The Grand Rapids Audubon Club, on Jan. 31st. Mr. Putnam is an Audubon coordinator of the Michigan Important Bird Areas (IBA) program. Held at Cornerstone University's Theological Seminary Auditorium, Mr. Putnam, a Sparta resident recording nocturnal flight calls since 2009, will speak about digitally recording migratory birds, tracking their populations and species composition. Attendees will learn how to set up microphones and identify flight calls for less than $100.
There is no admission charge, and social hour with refreshments begins at 6:30 p.m., with the program starting at 7:30 p.m. To learn more about GRAC click here.
