Scouts honor West Michigan's fallen Veterans
GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM) -- Memorial Day is five days away, but a group of Boy and Girl Scouts has already paid tribute to West Michigan's veterans.
More than 1,000 people turned out tonight for a flag ceremony outside the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans.
Because of the rainy conditions, organizers started the event inside a pavilion before the color guard led the scouts to the cemetery.
The scouts then placed more than 4,000 flags beside every headstone.
Organizers say its a great way to honor all veterans, past and present.
