Grand River Preparatory High School will celebrate its first ever Homecoming celebration with a week full of events starting Feb. 11, 2013.

The weeklong celebration, themed "A Night on the Red Carpet", includes a powder puff football game, a boys’ volleyball game, a staff vs. students basketball game, college apparel day, costume day, pajama day, and twin day. Friday will conclude the week of celebration with the homecoming assembly and first ever court, the varsity basketball game, and the crowning of the King and Queen at half-time.

“We are very excited to be celebrating our very first homecoming with our students,” said Grand River Preparatory High School Principal Jason Bannister. “Not only will they be showing their pride for their school, but will be helping to give back to their community.”

Rock the Beat, the staff vs. students basketball game, on Feb. 13 will be a white out game to raise awareness and funds to fight heart disease. The public is encouraged to attend the event by purchasing a ticket for $2.00 at the door or purchase a Rock the Beat t-shirt for $10.00 and get into the game for free. All proceeds will benefit the American Heart Association.
