Band Camp Yanked for City High Kids |

Grand Rapids--The week long July band camp to Centeral Michigan University in Mount Pleasant will NOT take place as previously planned according to the City High/Middle web site. This was a free trip for marching band students provided by CMU.

The replacement band camp will happen at City and Houseman Field a couple weeks before the start of the school year. The "probable" dates are August 20-24. This is consistent with other neighboring high school programs.All students in the City High School Band will be included and there will be two directors.This plan still requires official school board approval and funding to make this a confirmed change. There is a meeting on Monday, June 4th at 6pm in at the City High/Middle cafeteria for all parents regarding band camp and next year's high school band students. Forms can be filled out for the August marching session at this time.
